I will graduate in a year and am a senior. I am majoring in Business Administration in Marketing. A hospital in the Colorado area has a scholarship for Business Admin. majors, but I have to agree to work for a year if I get the scholarship. I have not found out any other details yet, but what jobs are available at a hospital for Business Administration. Please give me specifics.

    Like all companies, hospitals have a need for business functions. Most hospitals will have:
    — Finance department
    — Accounting / billing department
    — HR / Payroll department
    — Marketing department

    Why don’t you contact the hospital to inquire what sort of role they might offer to the scholarship winner? That way, you’ll get the information firsthand and can decide whether to apply.

    Just food for thought — many colleges these days are offering healthcare administration degrees, as this is becoming a specialty field in demand. You could transfer these skills to hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare banking, and a variety of other ideas. So definitely give that career path a thought, since it might open doors for you.
