What does the present Administration has to say to the 43.6 million Americans who don’t have health insurance?

Michelle asked:

Why is it ok for Americans have to go to another country (usually a developing nation) to obtain life saving procedures?
Or are we all ok as long as Dick Cheney gets to have his Coloscopy at the finest hospitals?
Alexg114: I work for a pharma compay…and I know how much money it takes to bring a drug to market…Yet Most developed nations’ governments seem be able to care for the health of its citizens. We sell them our drugs too, you know…
matt: the issue here is not me, it’s the 43.6 million Americans without insurance. Why is it so hard for the cons to think about their fellow Americans. And I couldn’t careless whether or not Dick Cheney has more money than me….Focus here please.
Alexg114: Canada and England are able to provide their citizens with government assisted health insurance. And I will state this ONE more time, they buy our drugs for their people. $50 Family health insuarce probably has a $5000 deductible. So Americans are JUST out of luck…

They have nothing to say. They have stated outright that there is no healthcare crisis in America. They continue to insist we have the best healthcare system in the world.

    We do not.

Healthcare is a growing crisis. Support a single-payer federal healthcare system! It will a cheaper alternative that will guarantee coverage for all Americans.

They could all go hunting with Dick Cheney. They wouldn’t have to worry about their health insurance after that.

    CLINTON/OBAMA in ‘08

    Here’s my theory.
Fortune 500 companies including Verizon, SBC, GM, TXU Energy, etc. are slowly eliminating pensions and other retirement benefits.
But do to the fact that they don’t have health insurance, they won’t live long enough to have to worry about their lost pensions!

After I was told I needed surgery to save my life I had to wait 5 years, then wait in line in the emergency room, then wait for the black people behind me to get waited on first. Then I was finally given my emergency surgery. I will never be the same. It can’t all be fixed and work the way it did years ago. None of it was due to my behavior or a failure to act on my own behalf. But, from what I’ve heard, this is because I’m fat and lazy and stole land from the Indians or something.

Our fearless leader has already spoken on this subject

Every American should buy medical insurance
Every American should set aside a medical savings account
Every American should invest in the medical services industry. That way you annual dividends from your HMO stock will offset the rising cost of healthcare.

Now just go buy say $250,000 in HMO stock of your choice. And start putting another $10.000 a month in your medical savings.

it is available to them. help yourselves. find govt. programs, get a private carrier, go to a free clinic, and stop asking for a handout! finding a govt program is fine - get a social worker at a hospital to help, but don’t just sit around and say “everyone without coverage should just have it given to them”. that is not trying to help yourself. the resources are there. i have never heard of going to an underdeveloped country for a procedure, unless you have the money to choose a specialist there. if you have a problem with dick Cheney having more money than you, tough! life is not fair. some people have more money. if you cannot accept that fact and the fact that those people can obviously obtain better care and better everything, you will have a long, sad life. this is the land of opportunity, not free sh#t.

I would suppose that the administration is more or less telling those who have no health care nor the ability to pay the exorbitant prices to move to any other western country. They all have health care which is delivered at a far lower cost per patient, with the same care level of care as the U.S.

Never mind the availability of emergency services in the U.S. All countries have that plus regular care.

We have read some comments on problems with health care in other countries by some people in the U.S. and please allow us to say that they do not know what the h—they’re talking about but just voicing the propaganda of the H.M.O.’s

It’s too bad that the American government will not provide a nationwide health care program, like the one we have in Canada. If you are hurt or dying, you will not be turned away. It doesn’t matter if you are rich/poor, black/white, male/female or whatever. If you need help our hospitals will help you. It is unfortunate that the US works off of how much money you have. “Oh sorry Billy you can’t have the liver transplant you need to live because you are 2000 short.” It is sad.

As far as Dick Cheney goes, I’ll give him a colonscopy….. I don’t think he will enjoy it.

BTW Canada does not buy drugs from the States…you have it the other way around.

They have nothing to say nor do they care about the average American. We can rectify the situation when Hillary takes office in January of 2009, she will do the utmost in assuring that all American citizens have health insurance, it’s a right not a privilege.

Where in the Constitution is health care promised as a right?

America is the fall back country for the rich in countries with socialized medicine to come for basics like MRIs and more advanced surgeries. Doctors don’t spend 10 years in studying to be paid as much as cops.

What does Dick Cheney have to do with where you go for medical treatment. That is your business and it is not up to the Federal Government to provide you with medical care or your dependents.
I will tell you why this administration does not pay for your insurance. It is the same reason why they don’t buy your dresses or cars for you if you have money. You want the Government to pay for all your bills too while they are at it?
You are thinking back to the brainwashing Days of the Clinton’s fantasy health care reform that never came to pass mostly because all the other democrats back pedaled when they saw how much it was going to cost which was 275 million a year for a worthless HMO plan that no one would use or support in the first place.
Go to some of these other countries that have socialized medicine and ask them how they like it. Most will tell you is stinks.

Because most of you are stupid losers who take low paying jobs or want to work for cash under the table. you want insurance? get an education so you can obtain a beter job that offers it! Screw socialized medicine and screw making any of us pay for it!
