Should the Bush Administration apologize to the American people about the Walter Reed incident?

Comrade Conrad asked:

The Bush administration has failed its veterans. War veterans deserve better. The poor conditions of the Walter Reed hospital is a disgrace. Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan get subpar medical treatment? That’s not right.

Impeach bush!

Absolutely not! Walter Reed was on the BRAC list and has been for some time. It is an old outdated hospital that should have been closed long ago. In fact the BRAC committee recommended that all of Walter Reed should be closed immediately and reassigned to Bethesda Navy Hospital and it be renamed to honor Walter Reed. It was also on the BRAC list when Kelly Air Force Base was shut down several years ago. The politicians are needlessly keeping it open. President Bush has no authority or oversight of any Military facility, that is under the jurisdiction of the Pentagon only with the approval of Congress. NOT President Bush’s fault. Period!
